Environmental Responsibility
We take protecting the environment very seriously and have implemented a range of control measures and strategies to ensure we don’t harm it.
– Oil and Water Separators are installed at all our sites to ensure that no oil traces are released into the environment.
– Daily Fuel Stock Reconciliation using advanced automation solutions ensures that we quickly detect fuel losses and immediately check for leaks and take other appropriate actions.
– Double-walled Pipelines are used at all our filling stations to ensure that any accidental leakages are contained within the interstitial space of the pipeline.
– Local Building Regulations are strictly adhered to in the building of our sites to ensure our neighbouring communities are not impacted by the storage or retailing of hydrocarbons.
– Training is given to all our staff so they know how best to handle fuel and manage any spills that may occur.
Where we come from
Zamfuel Petroleum Ltd T/A UNO Energies was founded in 2016 as a part of the Parrogate group of companies, which includes Continental Ginnery Limited, a company that has been involved in cotton ginning in Zambia since 2007 and currently supports more than 80,000 small-scale farmers that supply cotton to the ginnery for processing.
The Parrogate group, in partnership with ETG, is an agricultural conglomerate with operations in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Malawi and Rwanda. In Zambia and Zimbabwe, the company is best known for the Zamgold and Zimgold cooking oil brands.
In 2016, seeing opportunities in the fuel and lubricants supply industry, both in bulk fuel supply (B2B/commercial customers) and retail sales (filling stations), Parrogate set up the company now known as UNO Energies.
